ALABEL, Sarangani (January 13, 2022) – Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-Sarangani) senior officer Ma. Ligaya B. Balongo (extreme left), Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta (2nd from left), former Malapatan municipal councilor Gwyn Singcoy (2nd from right) and Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations Engr. Gerald Faciol (extreme right) handover the payment of wage to one of the beneficiaries of DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (DOLE-TUPAD) program on January 7 at the Capitol gym. TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers. The program’s budget was from Senator Emmanuel Jose Joel Villanueva through the efforts of Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon with the support of Deputy Speaker Congressman Rogelio Pacquaio, Vice Governor De Peralta and all the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. The program has benefited a total of 557 beneficiaries all over Sarangani who were given temporary employment for 10 days. De Paralta also disclosed that Congressman Pacquiao also devised P34 million worth of funds to give additional assistance to the identified displaced workers in the province. Glenda Revaño, designated provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) manager, said “after nitong employment project for this batch,” she said that the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) or its accredited training institutions will be tapped to conduct the skills training for the TUPAD beneficiaries under its Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP).
