De Peralta encourages DOLE's TUPAD beneficiaries, “spend your earnings wisely”

ALABEL, Sarangani (January 13, 2022) – Vice Governor Elmer De Peralta speaks before guests during the awarding ceremony of the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (DOLE-TUPAD) program on January 7 at the Capitol gym. A total of 557 individuals from the transport groups in the seven municipalities of Sarangani whose income was affected by the pandemic; pastors under Sarangani’s Sulong-Haggai Project; and Sulong-Integrated Barangay Defense Force (IBDF) were among the beneficiaries from the said program. Glenda Revaño, designated provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) manager, explained “kining atong mga TUPAD beneficiaries kay nagtrabaho for 10 days for their temporary employment as street cleaners sa ilang community.” She added that each beneficiary received a minimum wage amounting to P336 “or P3,360 for 10 days”. De Peralta also encouraged the beneficiaries to “spend their earnings wisely”. “Hinaot nako na unta inyong gamiton ang inyong mga sweldo sa pag-prioritize sa inyong mga panginahanglan sa balay og sa pagsuporta sa inyong pamilya.” The DOLE-TUPAD program in Sarangani was funded through Senator Emmanuel Jose Joel Villanueva with the strong support of Deputy Speaker Congressman Regelio Pacquiao, Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Governor De Peralta and all the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members.
