Sarangani commemorates EDSA’s 36th anniversary

ALABEL, Sarangani (February 27, 2022) – Some officials, heads of offices, and Capitol employees gather on February 25 at the Capitol grounds to commemorate the 36th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution. A flag-raising ceremony was held, led by the Provincial Security Group (PSG) on a rainy Friday morning, to celebrate the 36th year of the 1986 bloodless revolt that happened at EDSA. In history, the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution gathered millions of Filipinos from all walks of life to march along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), to end the regime of then-President Ferdinand E. Marcos and begin a new era marked by so-called true freedom and democracy. It manifested through a series of non-violent and popular demonstrations staged in different cities nationwide that began in 1983 and culminated in 1986.
