Sarangani is top 18 most competitive province in the country

KORONADAL CITY (March 28, 2022) – The Regional Competitiveness Committee, headed by Regional Director Jude Constantine Jaugan (3rd from left) of the Department of Trade and Industry XII, awards Sarangani as rank 18 out of the 82 provinces nationwide in the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) during the 8th CMCI Regional Awarding Ceremony on March 24 at Narra Function Hall, Cinco Niñas in Koronadal. The award was received by Milbie Daguro (5th from left), CMCI provincial coordinator, DTI-Sarangani Provincial Director Ethel Laksmi Gumana (6th from right), and municipal coordinators and Local Economic Investment Promotions Officers (LEIPOs) from the municipalities of Sarangani. “For Sarangani to be top 18, it’s really an advantage for an LGU or a province na mataas ang ranking because it means you are really competitive and you will attract investors to come to your place,” Gumana said. Also, five municipalities from Sarangani namely Alabel, Malungon, Maasim, Kiamba, and Malapatan have received awards in the four pillars of CMCI which are Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, and Resiliency.
