MAITUM, Sarangani (May 25, 2022) - Executive Director Cesar De Mesa, head of PAMANA National Program Management Office under the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU), speaks before officials, locals, and guests on May 24 during the turnover ceremonies of two PAMANA projects in Maitum, held at JLC Municipal Hall. De Mesa explained how the widely-known Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process or OPAPP transitioned to OPAPRU in December 2021. Accordingly, the now OPAPRU, which was formerly the OPAPP, is the government’s expanded and re-organized peace agency pursuant to Executive Order 158 issued by President Rodrigo Duterte. He said the transition of the agency is related to “the take-off of our peace efforts with the different groups to achieve lasting peace.” He also thanked the Maitumians for the warm welcome his team have received, and asked the recipients of the projects, “alagaan talaga ninyo itong mga proyektong ito na ibinigay sa inyo dahil malaki ang magiging epekto nito sa kapayapaan at kaayusan ng inyong lugar.” (Jake Narte-Jori Mae Samillano/SARANGANI PROVINCIAL INFORMATION OFFICE)
